"Restoring Hope to the Family"
What does it mean to restore hope to the family? I believe a key to this is in the area of restored relationships: relationship with the Lord, relationship between husband and wife (if it is an intact family), relationship between parent and child. A key to that is in healthy, authentic, transparent lives (living gospel-centered lives means living "in the light" (1 Jn 1:9) with the Lord and each other). This is manifested in healthy communication patterns, mutual respect, and mutual repentance. Kids learn how to do this through the modeling of their parents. Church communities learn to do this through the modeling of their leadership (who, hopefully, are also doing it in the home). This is truly counter-culture, regardless of the socio-economic position of the family or church.
