Logos Research Systems has updated their Bible software and
made it into one of the most powerful and helpful software programs for Bible
study. They have five different editions that are scaled to the level and needs
of the user.
- The Christian Home Library contains a wealth of
digital books to help in the area of marriage and family. Materials are
included as a resource for home schooling.
- The Bible Study Library has materials to aid the
small group leaders, Sunday school teachers, and youth workers.
- The Pastor’s Library includes a comprehensive set
of tools to assist the pastor in his study of Scripture and preparation of
sermons, as well as training leaders.
- The Original Language Library edition provides
help in the exegesis of Scripture in Hebrew, Greek and Latin.
- The Scholar’s Library is the top of the line and
contains 232 titles, including all material from the other four collections
plus much more.
Each package includes several Bible translations, Bible
dictionaries, commentaries, lexicons, as well as systematic theologies. There
are preaching helps and illustrations for sermons, along with selected sermons
from such greats as George Whitfield. Pastors can find resources covering many
topics related to pastoral ministry in the local church.
This software system has so many of the classical books and
resources that one would use for research and exegesis of Scripture. One of the
beautiful things about this system is that rather than covering your desk with
lots of printed books opened and book marked, Logos software allows you to open
all your material with the click of the mouse. The system is rather easy to move
around in as you point and click to different books you want to open.
Finally, a great add-on to this software package is a $20
CD containing a Morris Proctor Seminar that leads you step by step in how to
best use the software. The company stands behind the product by offering free
technical advice, updates on their website, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
They are continually adding to their collection of 2500 digital books.
