This outstanding theological work covers the major system of doctrine in the Westminster Confession of Faith.  It originated as a series of lectures that MacLeod gave in several Scottish churches in the late 80s and early 90s.  He clearly, precisely, and masterfully communicates the truth of Scripture and the reformed faith.

I particularly recommend that pastors and ruling elders use this book in officers training classes.  Not only will it whet their appetite for theological study, but will prepare them as spiritual leaders of the church to teach and apply the Scripture to people’s lives.  It will also help them answer questions people ask as they come to an understanding of the reformed faith.

Another reviewer said that MacLeod can be put right along side Warfield and Murray in his exegetical competence.  This book is new and refreshing reading of our biblical and  historic faith.  It is good reading for all who want to deepen their understanding of theology.
